Does Your Mouth Fail The 'Healthy Gums Test'?
Answer this question Fast:“If I could no longer afford to have my teeth cleaned and visit the dentist every few months would I still have healthy teeth and gums?”Or better yet, if you were shipwrecked on a deserted island, would you know how to keep your teeth and gums healthy to avoid cavities and gum disease?I’m guessing no, and that’s a huge problem. You only get one set of teeth and gums, and if they’re not healthy your entire body is paying the price.You need a backup plan.

We are told that brushing, flossing and visiting the dentist for a cleaning and check up is the way to have a healthy set of teeth. And while those things are important, there is a key factor missing.The “how to” portion of a healthy mouth is the missing link when it comes to actually having healthy gums.We are taught by advertising WHAT to use, but not HOW to use it…..it’s the how that controls the bacteria and disease process, not the what.Knowing “how to” take care of your mouth is great for 2 reasons:

When you know “how to” take care of your mouth your cleanings become amazingly simple. No longer will you have to hear “you know you really should ___ more/better.That money that you would have spent on “deep cleanings”…..yup, you get to spend that elsewhere!That filling that would have needed a crown because there is a new cavity around it…..yup, you guessed it, more money saved….vacation time anyone?!

When you know “how to” take care of your mouth, the bacteria that causes gum disease and cavities are controlled, and your overall health is better.When your overall health is better, you spend less time at the doctor’s office and pharmacy. That money you save, you guessed it….pocketed!Gum disease is based around bacteria; how it multiples, how it acidifies, and how it breaks down the gum, the tooth and the bone that holds the teeth in place.
