Red Thyme – Combatting Oral Cancer And Infections For Over 1,000 Years

Red Thyme is a member of the Mint family and has been used medicinally for a host of medical maladies for 1,000s of years. This aromatic, culinary herb owes much of its healing power to a compound called thymol. Thymol, commonly used as a flavoring and preservative has antifungal and antibacterial properties and is easily expressed through its essential oil form.

Red and sweet thyme are used as often in cooking as they are used in natural medicine. When eaten fresh this versatile herb provides one of the highest concentrations of antioxidants in the herb world along with a potent dose of vitamin A, which has been linked to the reduction of oral and lung cancer.

Red thyme’s essential oils are also potent enough to be effective in killing head lice!Beyond human parasites, red thyme has also been found effective against microscopic bacteria like E.Coli, commonly found in meat, eggs and anything that has come in contact with feces. Studies have found that just adding a few drops of the essential oil to your cooking can significantly reduce, if not eliminate, the presence of E.Coli throughout your food. Some great results have been reported adding a few drops of red thyme’s essential oil to baths helping to relieve “athletes foot” and as a rinse to rid the mouth of overactive bacteria. Tooth and Gums Tonic is one of the few natural mouth rinses that includes red thyme as an ingredient.

Alternative medicine experts, and dentists alike, support this natural, antifungal and antibacterial herb in the quest for oral health.Red thyme is helpful inside and outside the body. It can help to increase mental alertness, memory and in some cases even have a positive effect on people suffering from depression.

People suffering from asthma and bronchitis may find red thymes mucous loosening properties helpful in their quest to breathe better, while those with acne can try a compress to lessen the severity of blemishes and fungal skin infections associated with acne.
