Acupuncture Points
Without getting too deep into Chinese Medical theory, the mouth has two powerful meridians that connect to it; the Large Intestine Meridian and the Stomach Meridian. Both of these channels have acupuncture points along the jaw and mouth. They also have powerful points the affect pain found on the hand and foot. One of the most powerful points that relieve pain in the entire body is found on the hand: Large Intestine #4 (in Chinese, "He Gu"). This point has the reputation of being the command point for any head and face issue.
It also is such a strong pain reducing point, that it is often used in anesthesia.Another point commonly used to treat mouth pain is found on the foot; Stomach 44 (in Chinese, "Nei Ting"). The Chinese believe that pain often comes from heat and/or fire stuck in our meridians. You can feel this when your tooth, or mouth is painful, red, inflamed and hot. This point is especially good at clearing that heat and relieving pain.Using your fingers to vigorously press on these points may give you exactly the relief you are looking for. If you visit your acupuncturist, they may even put needles in these point and along your jaw and cheek to effect even greater relief. There are incredibly effective treatments out there for mouth pain. And there is no reason to go about your life debilitated by such agony. When you have pain in your mouth, your dentist is the first person you call. I hope you never experience mouth pain again. If you do though, don't overlook the incredible results of acupuncture.
